The Foundational Pillar
Turning a strategic intention into an idea people could understand, experience and carry forward.

The challenge
A leadership team needed to introduce a new strategic pillar to an organisation that had heard "new strategy" many times before. The request that arrived was for a launch event. The problem underneath it was credibility: people needed to believe this one would hold.
The insight
Strategies are forgotten when they arrive as slogans. They are remembered when people can see what they rest on. The idea had to make the foundation visible before it asked anyone to build on it.
The idea
We framed the pillar as something built, not announced. A single central thought — what we stand on — guided a sequence of moments: a leadership session that surfaced the real questions, a physical artefact that gave the pillar weight, and a narrative that let every team explain the strategy in their own words.
The outcome
The launch became the first chapter of a story rather than a one-off event. The artefact still sits on desks; the language it introduced is still in use. Every expression that followed had a reason.
